Warren residents have decisively voted to renew the city’s police and fire millage, ensuring continued funding for essential public safety services. The renewal passed with 12,809 votes, a 65.66% approval margin.
This measure will maintain the existing rate of 4.6176 mils for the next five years, providing consistent financial support without increasing taxes. Funds from the levy will continue to support staffing, equipment, training, and emergency response across the city’s police, fire, and emergency medical departments.
“The millage represents stability in that we know we aren’t facing drastic changes that require cuts,” said Warren Fire Commissioner Skip McAdams. “Assuming the economy remains stable, we can expect consistent funding for both police and fire.”
McAdams noted that the passage allows him to plan more confidently for the upcoming fiscal year, as budget preparations begin each December.
The millage renewal in Warren secures steady funding for police and fire services over five years, sustaining key public safety operations without raising local taxes.
