The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will arrive soon, ending the long wait for this Phase 6 Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. The new phase began this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps and will conclude by 2027 with two Avengers films.
Collider confirmed the Avengers: Doomsday trailer will debut on December 19, shown before Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Principal photography for the movie wrapped on September 19, 2025. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, known for their work on previous Avengers movies.
The film marks the MCU return of Robert Downey Jr., who will portray the iconic villain Victor von Doom, also known as Doom. He will continue this role in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, which has not yet begun filming.
During a surprise Marvel Studios live-stream, the cast lineup was revealed, featuring several actors from the Fox-Marvel X-Men era:
"The Avengers: Doomsday cast was first revealed during a surprise live-stream from Marvel Studios, where they had several chairs unveil multiple actors coming back."
This reunion of X-Men characters adds excitement to the upcoming film.
