Power outages can severely disrupt everyday life, and the recent event in Moss Park is a clear example. Toronto Hydro is currently restoring electricity to around 600 customers who have been without power for more than a full day after an underground cable fault.
The power failure in Moss Park was first reported at 8:11 a.m. on Wednesday. Toronto Hydro traced the problem to a fault in an underground cable, which was likely caused by a third-party construction-related dig-in near the affected area.
“This construction is not affiliated with Toronto Hydro, yet it has significantly impacted our infrastructure, leading to the current disruption,” representatives from Toronto Hydro stated.
Toronto Hydro teams are working around the clock to bring electricity back to residents. The initial target was 8:30 a.m. Thursday, but due to repair complexities, the estimated restoration time has been postponed to 11:00 a.m.
The utility has asked customers for patience as technicians complete these critical steps to safely restore service and ensure lasting reliability.
