Capgemini and Orano have introduced Hoxo, a humanoid robot equipped with artificial intelligence, at the Orano Melox site in Gard. Created to assist teams working in nuclear environments, Hoxo is entering a four-month testing phase.
This launch represents a strategic move towards automating high-value technical tasks in a sensitive sector. Revealed at the Orano Melox School of Trades, Hoxo is the first humanoid robot tailored specifically for the nuclear industry.
Over four months, Orano Melox engineers will validate Hoxo’s performance in carrying out safety checks and handling tasks in hazardous conditions.
« Physical artificial intelligence » is a new performance driver for the nuclear industry, says Alexandre Embry, vice president and CTIO of Capgemini.
Capgemini highlights that this project combines industrial vision, robotics, and AI to redefine human-machine collaboration in sensitive environments. Hoxo’s mobility and precision are designed to help operators by taking over repetitive or low-value tasks and reducing exposure to hazardous areas.
Hoxo represents a significant innovation in nuclear site automation, enhancing safety and operational efficiency by integrating AI-powered humanoid robotics into nuclear industry tasks.
