Marsy’s Law for Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, and the Wisconsin Newspaper Association are jointly hosting a webinar dedicated to responsible media practices when reporting on crime victims.

The webinar will cover best practices recommended by the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) for journalists, including how to interact with victims respectfully, protect survivors from unwanted exposure, and effectively use their stories for positive outcomes.

It will also explore how these ethical reporting guidelines align with Wisconsin’s constitutional amendment, known as Marsy’s Law, which secures crime victims’ rights such as privacy, receiving notice, and participation in the justice process.
