Communities throughout the Inverness area will solemnly honor those who have lost their lives in conflicts during Remembrance events this weekend. Hundreds are expected to attend the city’s main annual Remembrance Sunday parade and service at the Cavell Gardens war memorial.
In addition, towns and villages across the region will hold gatherings at their local war memorials to quietly remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Sunday’s parade in Inverness will feature members of the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS), veterans, cadet groups, young people, politicians, and civic leaders. The procession will assemble on Huntly Street at 2:20 pm.
New to this year’s event, motorcyclists from the Highland Riders’ Branch of the RBLS will join the march. The parade will cross the River Ness to the war memorial, where the Remembrance service will start at 3:00 pm.
