Claressa Shields Calls Out Jake Paul For Acting Shocked About Gervonta Davis

Claressa Shields Criticizes Jake Paul Over Reaction to Gervonta Davis Situation

Claressa Shields publicly criticized Jake Paul for his selective outrage regarding the cancellation of the Gervonta "Tank" Davis boxing exhibition. The event, initially scheduled for November 14th on Netflix, was called off by Paul's boxing promotion, Most Valuable Promotions.

Cancellation and Response

Paul's team announced the cancellation on Monday, stating the event "will no longer be moving forward." Nakisa Bidarian, Paul's business partner, explained they are handling the situation responsibly and plan to reschedule Paul against a different opponent on Netflix at a later date in 2025. Gervonta Davis will no longer participate in the event.

Domestic Violence Allegations Against Davis

The decision coincided with new court documents revealing accusations against Davis, including an ex-girlfriend alleging that he strangled her inside a Miami strip club on October 27th.

Paul described Davis as "an actual walking human piece of garbage" in a statement shared on X.

Shields' Perspective

Shields expressed skepticism that Paul was genuinely shocked by these allegations.

“I have a few things to say about that,” Shields said on X Spaces. “One: I will say this, I'm not going to say I 100 percent agree with what Jake said, but what I will say is that we all knew Tank's background with domestic violence before his fight got made.”
“Before any of his fights get made, we already know he's got some issues with this,” she added. “This is not his first, second, or even third time with something like this coming out.”

Summary

Claressa Shields accuses Jake Paul of pretending to be surprised by Gervonta Davis' repeated domestic violence issues, emphasizing that this behavior was known well before Paul’s scheduled fight with Davis.
