Homes of Heroes project seeks stories of Paris, Ont. veterans ahead of Remembrance Day

Homes of Heroes Project Seeks Stories of Paris Veterans

As Remembrance Day approaches, a dedicated group from Paris, Ontario, is gathering stories about local veterans and residents who continue to serve their country. The initiative, called “Homes of Heroes,” pays tribute to their service while educating younger generations about the true cost of war.

The project also aims to support the work of Paris Branch 29 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Organizers believe that preserving these personal histories will help the community remember and appreciate the sacrifices made by its members.

“It’s getting late to hear some of these stories and so I thought they should probably be written down and made public so they don’t get lost entirely,” said Neil Edwards.

Edwards, a former high school teacher in Paris, is collaborating with veterans Chuck Prystupa and Mark Ford, along with local historian Steve Pinkett, to map the lives of area veterans and share who they were beyond their service.
