Brantford Councillors Endorse "Critically Important" Infrastructure Project
A multi-million dollar plan to install water and wastewater pipes beneath Highway 403 near the Oak Park Road interchange has been declared "critically important" to Brantford’s economic future by Mayor Kevin Davis.
Key Location for Industrial Development
The land, located immediately north of Highway 403 and including a former gravel pit, is one of the few sites in southern Ontario poised for industrial development once the necessary pipes are installed, according to the mayor.
“It’s the kind of land that 20 years ago you would see an auto assembly plant on it,” Davis said at the November 4 committee-of-the whole meeting. “It’s that large, it’s that significant to both the future of our community and southern Ontario.”
Future Industrial Growth Potential
Mayor Davis emphasized the potential for substantial industrial growth in southern Ontario, especially if trade relations with the United States improve.
“We’d be a prime candidate for that investment,” Davis stated, highlighting Brantford’s strategic position for future economic development.
