The Ministry of Interior’s spokesperson, Noureddine Al-Baba, announced on Sunday the results of an investigation into alleged kidnappings in Syria's coastal region, covering Latakia, Tartous, Homs, and Hama governorates.
A special committee conducted thorough inquiries by reviewing official records and interviewing the women and girls involved, as well as their families.
"The Ministry of Interior treats every report or suspicion of kidnapping with the utmost seriousness, underscoring its commitment to safeguarding citizens—particularly Syrian women and vulnerable groups—and ensuring their right to security."
Al-Baba urged the public to avoid spreading rumours and to verify information before sharing it. The Ministry remains open to receiving reports through its official channels.
He expressed gratitude to the residents of the coastal region for their support during the investigation, reaffirming the Ministry’s role as a reliable institution serving society.
