On November 1, Jessica Simpson celebrated eight years of sobriety with a heartfelt Instagram post. The singer shared a selfie smiling at the camera, accompanied by reflections on her journey.
Jessica wrote about the impact alcohol had on her life: "Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency." She emphasized the importance of faith over fear in her recovery.
“I’m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.”
She described her decision eight years ago as a choice to confront and let go of self-sabotaging behaviors, which allowed her to pursue God's purpose for her life.
Jessica also revealed that sobriety has deeply influenced her songwriting. In 2016 and 2017, despite writing with top hitmakers in Los Angeles, she chose not to release certain songs because they didn’t feel authentic to her.
“Back then, some songs just didn’t feel like me.”
Jessica Simpson credits her eight years of sobriety with restoring faith, clarity, and authenticity in both life and her music career.
