Newcomer Spotlight: Abby Herndon

As the Malveaux era begins its second season on the Plains, several newcomers will don the Orange and Blue at Jane B. Moore Field for the first time. This fall, we will introduce the 13 new members joining the program.

Abby Herndon Joins the Tigers

Abby Herndon, a left-handed pitcher from Killen, Alabama, has joined the Tigers after spending last season at Ole Miss. Although she did not play during her first collegiate year, Herndon boasts an impressive prep career, having been named all-state three times at Brooks High School.

Interview with Abby Herndon

Q: How old were you when you first started to play softball?

Herndon: I was four when I started tee ball. I was around six when I actually started playing with a softball.

Q: Who has influenced your softball career the most?

Herndon: We would always be in the yard, hitting off the tee and practicing at a very young age.

Q: Who was a player you admired as a young athlete?

Herndon: I got her book when I was 10 and read it. She was always a player I watched.

Q: What advice would you give your younger self?

Abby Herndon's transition to the Tigers reflects her strong foundation in softball and dedication from an early age, promising an exciting future in the Malveaux era.
