Comedian Alan Carr has jokingly called his fellow contestants on Celebrity Traitors “thick” after none of them realized he was secretly eliminating them throughout the show.
The entertainer, now in Florida before the show’s finale, humorously declared himself “the most hated man in the UK” after killing off beloved actress Celia Imrie and his friend Paloma Faith on the BBC series.
“That’s why I’m in America. I’m the most hated man in Britain,”
he told Heart Radio while taking his niece and nephew to Universal Studios in Orlando.
Alan expressed surprise that none of his celebrity companions suspected him of being the Traitor, joking about his behavior during filming.
“I’ve got loads of celebrity friends, but are they thick? I’m giggling when people are murdered. When they don’t come down for breakfast, I just stick cheese in my mouth.”
At 49, the comic confessed that playing the role of a TV killer has been both stressful and entertaining.
“It’s stressful murdering every day… but I’m getting a taste for it.”
Meanwhile, fellow contestant Cat Burns, 25, shared with The Times that she’s handling the sudden fame quietly.
“Mainly just staying at home,”
she said, describing the whole experience as “a bit mad.”
Recently eliminated participant Kate Garraway has even predicted Carr’s victory.
“I think he’s going to win. I’m going to say it now,”
she told BBC Radio Two, suggesting that his laughter and unpredictable energy could be his path to success.
