Bruins Edge Senators on Zacha's Late Goal in Overtime

Pavel Zacha scored with just 5.6 seconds left in overtime, leading the Boston Bruins to a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators at TD Garden on Thursday. This victory extended Boston's winning streak to five games.

Charlie McAvoy recovered a loose puck in the left corner, skated across the zone, and sent a shot along the goal line. Linus Ullmark saved the initial attempt, but the rebound came close to the right post where Zacha pushed it in.

“It was a big team win,” Zacha said. “Until the end, all the lines were going. Even through injuries, a couple of guys leaving the game, we stuck together and won the game.”

Other Bruins contributors included Morgan Geekie and Sean Kuraly, who also scored. Andrew Peeke added two assists, while Joonas Korpisalo made 20 saves. The Bruins improved their record to 9-7-0.

“We’re doing enough right things to hang in games, and if you give yourself a chance you put yourself in a spot to get points,” Kuraly said. “There are still things we want to clean up, but we’re sticking to our systems and we’re eliminating major mistakes that ended up in the back of our net during that losing streak.”

The team overcame a challenging stretch, including a six-game losing streak in October, by maintaining focus and teamwork.

Author’s summary: The Bruins secured a crucial overtime win against the Senators, highlighted by Zacha's late goal and a cohesive team effort overcoming injuries and past struggles.
