Jennifer Lawrence, the 35-year-old Academy Award winner, recently became emotional during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In her new cover story for W Magazine’s The Art Issue, she offered insights into why she has been feeling particularly sensitive lately.
While discussing her latest project, the comedic thriller Die My Love, Lawrence opened up about her experience of being pregnant during filming. She also reflected on the profound shift in perspective that motherhood brings.
The actress, known for her role in The Hunger Games, has two sons — Cy, aged three, and a younger boy born in March 2025 — with her husband, art dealer Cooke Maroney. Lawrence described her powerful emotional connection with her first child.
"I felt completely connected to Cy after he was born," she said, acknowledging the challenge of returning to work after becoming a mother.
"The world wasn't designed around that relationship," she reflected. "Suddenly you’re like, wait, how am I supposed to go back to work? Get on an airplane and fly away from my baby? Everything looks different after that."
