A singer-songwriter was banned from a Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles following a heated dispute with a trans woman over locker room use. The confrontation escalated after the singer spotted the trans woman in the women’s changing room.
Tish Hyman, 42, from the Bronx, New York, said her membership was revoked after she recorded the clash. She explained that she and other women had filed complaints about the trans woman, later identified as Alexis Black, who is undergoing hormone therapy but retains male genitalia.
“Now he knows how to be a man, right? Stay outta the women’s locker room! We don’t want it,” Hyman said. “He needs to have his gym membership revoked for that s**t!”
Hyman added that her objections were based on privacy concerns, emphasizing her right as a woman to feel safe in a space where others are undressed.
“You can’t get rid of me for this! I’m a woman and I have every right not to want a man in the rest room when I’m naked! There are girls naked in there!”
Black disagreed, stating she was never fully exposed to Hyman and does not understand the issue raised.
Following the incident, the gym terminated the memberships of both individuals to address the conflict over locker room access.
