At the Dolby Theatre taping of Wicked: One Wonderful Night on September 24, audiences glimpsed the magic behind the curtain. The event featured a full house of dedicated “Wicked” fans dressed for the occasion.
Before the cameras started rolling, the audience learned choreography for the opening number, “No One Mourns the Wicked.” Those in the orchestra section received faux tulips and were taught to toss them into the air in sync with Ariana Grande’s entrance as Glinda the Good.
The group rehearsed for several minutes before dancers joined in for the final run-through and filming.
The scenes were shot out of sequence and included full musical numbers along with scene transitions.
