Ken Jennings, the “Jeopardy!” host and former University of Washington (UW) student, recently visited his hometown to promote his latest book of puzzles. “Jeopardy!” remains one of the most popular TV shows, attracting over 5 million viewers each night, largely due to Jennings’ charm, intelligence, and Pacific Northwest roots.
Born in Edmonds, Washington, Jennings spent part of his childhood in South Korea and Singapore. Before his rise to fame, he worked as a computer programmer. More than 20 years ago, he became a “Jeopardy!” contestant, winning 74 consecutive games and setting the record as the highest-earning American game show competitor.
