The Milwaukee Bucks opened their NBA Cup group play by hosting the Chicago Bulls in Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum. A noticeable crowd of Bulls supporters filled the arena for this intense regional matchup that stayed competitive until the fourth quarter.
In the closing minutes, the Bucks pulled away to secure a 126–110 victory. The game showcased early playoff-like energy, giving the team and coaching staff a chance to measure their progress and focus areas.
“That was an intense game tonight,” Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said. “The reason it’s great is because you get to see early intensity. You put yourself in a playoff-type atmosphere, and it allows you, from a coaching standpoint, to really evaluate what you need to change, what you need to work on.”
Despite the lively atmosphere on the green-and-gold Cup court, Milwaukee started poorly. The team managed only 11 points in the first eight minutes, struggling with missed perimeter shots and falling behind early.
“First half, I actually told our team as a group that was the worst shots we’ve taken this year in a half,” Rivers admitted. “I thought we were very impatient offensively.”
The momentum shifted late in the opening quarter. A powerful dunk by Amir Coffey followed by a three-pointer from Myles Turner sparked a quick scoring surge that revitalized Milwaukee’s rhythm and confidence.
The Bucks overcame an erratic start through composure and timely execution, turning impatience into control to claim their first NBA Cup group-stage win over Chicago.
