Paul Rodgers of Bad Company will miss Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction to 'prioritize health'

Paul Rodgers to Miss Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Due to Health

Paul Rodgers, one of the founding members of the English rock band Bad Company, announced that he will not attend the group’s upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony to focus on his health.

“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health,” wrote Rodgers in a statement shared on Bad Company’s Instagram page.

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, which will honor Bad Company among other inductees, is set for Saturday. Rodgers had planned to reunite on stage with drummer Simon Kirke to perform several songs. Instead, Kirke and other musicians will take his place.

The event will also feature performances and appearances by artists including Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, and Elton John.

“Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me — guaranteed to rock,” Rodgers added.

Rodgers did not provide further details about his health in the announcement, but he previously shared in a 2023 interview with CBS News that he suffered two major strokes in 2016 and 2019, along with several minor strokes that temporarily left him unable to speak.
