Days before this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Paul Rodgers of Bad Company announced he will miss the event, citing health reasons. The singer and guitarist shared on the band’s official Instagram:
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Simon along with some outstanding musicians will be stepping in for me – guaranteed to rock.”
Rodgers was scheduled to reunite on stage with Bad Company’s drummer Simon Kirke for the first time since 2019. Kirke had confirmed the reunion plans in an interview with Gold Derby, humorously stating about the setlist: “I’m not at liberty to say which songs. I mean, quite honestly, I don’t give a shit.”
The event will take place this weekend at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Bad Company will be inducted alongside artists including:
Simon Kirke, the only other surviving original member of Bad Company, planned the reunion, but Rodgers’ health concerns have changed those plans.
Paul Rodgers will skip the Rock Hall induction ceremony due to health issues, postponing a reunion performance with Simon Kirke after six years.
