Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen reunited on Saturday at the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, their first meeting since filming How the Grinch Stole Christmas 25 years ago. The event took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, where the actors posed for photos on the red carpet, according to Parade.
“We haven’t seen each other since the Grinch. Twenty-five!” Momsen told reporters on the red carpet, as reported by KNX News.
Both attended the ceremony to honor the induction of Soundgarden into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Carrey paid tribute by officially inducting the band. He had previously hosted the 1996 episode of Saturday Night Live where Soundgarden was the musical guest.
Momsen performed “Rusty Cage” and “Black Hole Sun” alongside artists Brandi Carlile, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell. Her band, Pretty Reckless, had opened for Soundgarden’s final tour before the death of Chris Cornell in 2017, according to Parade.
Momsen was only 7 years old when she starred as Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 holiday film. In a recent “Call Her Daddy” podcast episode from November 5, she reflected on working with Carrey in the elaborate Grinch costume.
“Jim Carrey is the Grinch,” Momsen said.
