High Lander and Thai Partners Launch National Drone Delivery Pilot in Bangkok

Thailand has taken a significant step toward building a national drone infrastructure by launching a large-scale drone delivery pilot in Bangkok. This initiative, named “The New Era of Drone Delivery,” is a collaboration between Thailand’s National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), and High Lander Aviation, a global unmanned traffic management (UTM) system provider.

Collaboration and Technology Integration

The partnership showcased how coordinated UTM technology can enable safe drone operations in densely populated urban environments. High Lander’s Vega UTM platform was integrated with NT’s advanced 5G network, allowing real-time flight coordination, visibility, and safety management for all drones involved in the project.

Demonstration Outcomes

During the demonstration, dozens of drone deliveries were completed successfully, transporting a variety of items including medical and agricultural supplies, as well as consumer goods.

“CAAT’s role is to regulate aviation safety and promote the advancement of the aviation industry. Supporting innovation and technological development in unmanned aircraft and related systems is a key part of our mission,” said Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the CAAT.

Significance of the Pilot

This pilot represents a crucial move in developing Thailand’s drone ecosystem, proving how innovative partnerships and advanced technology can facilitate safe and efficient drone deliveries within urban airspace.

“The collaboration between NT and High Lander demonstrated how coordinated UTM technology can safely enable drone operations in complex urban areas.”
