Toyota Motor Corporation presented the ninth-generation Hilux at a premiere event in Bangkok, Thailand. The latest model features a diverse powertrain strategy, including diesel, battery electric vehicle (BEV), and plans for a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV).
The diesel Hilux will launch in Japan from mid-2026, followed by phased rollouts across Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Toyota intends to release the FCEV Hilux in Europe and Oceania starting in 2028.
The Hilux continues to be built on Toyota’s renowned global IMV platform, which has supported its worldwide success for over two decades. It remains popular among commercial fleets, construction industry users, rural areas, as well as families and urban customers.
