Two Australian men received commendation from American country musician Drew Baldridge after intervening in a troubling incident at a Melbourne McDonald’s. The footage shows a female employee being verbally abused and spat on by a customer.
Drew Baldridge, who is touring Australia with Jelly Roll, shared the viral video on his social media with the caption “Never abuse women.” He described the men’s actions as inspiring, applauding their defense of the staff member.
“Wrong country if you want to abuse women,” one of the men said in the footage.
Baldridge witnessed the abusive customer repeatedly hurl insults at the worker. He recalled, “He probably said it like five times and I was starting to get frustrated. And I was like, ‘Bro, you need to calm down. You don’t talk to women like that.’” At one point, the man spat at the woman because his order was incorrect, though the exact reason was unclear.
According to Baldridge, shortly after the spitting incident, other men in the restaurant confronted the assailant.
“Hey bro we don’t talk to women like that,” another man said before they pinned the customer to the ground.
He admired the courage of the men who stepped in, highlighting the importance of standing up against abuse.
Summary: Drew Baldridge commended the quick actions of two men who physically restrained a customer abusing a McDonald’s employee, emphasizing the importance of protecting women from verbal and physical abuse.
