Images posted on Instagram by bfmsoficial, sourced from a video initially released before embargo by Auto Societies but later removed, reveal the updated HiLux ahead of the official presentation. The ute receives a major design update.
Design Changes
While the platform and cabin from the A- to C-pillars remain identical to the current model, the HiLux features a completely new front end. Changes include slim headlights, a squared-off grille with sharp edges, and a rugged rear with a TOYOTA-embossed tailgate.
Variants and Powertrains
- The leaked photos show several versions sold in Thailand as the HiLux Travo, including:
- Prerunner
- Overland
- 4Trex
- Travo-e, an electric variant
- All non-electric variants are powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, likely the carry-over ‘1GD-FTV’ used in the Australian HiLux lineup.
