Jetstar brings back international flights to Avalon

Jetstar Restores and Expands International Flights at Avalon

Jetstar, a low-cost airline, will resume international flights from Avalon Airport, launching a new service to Bali in March next year. This marks the return of international flights at Avalon for the first time since early 2020. Alongside Bali, Jetstar will restore its Avalon-Adelaide route and increase capacity on flights to Brisbane.

Details of the New and Restored Services

“This is a massive step forward for Jetstar at Melbourne Avalon Airport. We’re launching two new routes and adding more seat capacity than ever before,” said Jetstar CEO Stephanie Tully.

She emphasized how these services provide greater travel options for Victorians, enabling more affordable trips for both families and weekend travelers. The expansion is expected to bring economic benefits to Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula by attracting thousands more passengers through Melbourne’s second airport gateway.

“I want to thank the Victorian Government, Melbourne Avalon Airport and Adelaide Airport for their support of low fares travel,” Tully added.

Impact of the Expansion

In total, Jetstar’s expansion at Avalon will add over 330,000 seats annually. Ari Suss, CEO of Avalon Airport, noted that the increased capacity will benefit both local communities and tourists alike.
