Mike McEwen, a curler from Saskatoon, has been eliminated from the 2023 Tim Hortons Brier.

McEwen's rink had a 4-3 win-loss record going into the final draw of the round-robin, but they fell 9-4 to the Northern Ontario team led by Glenn Howard.

McEwen released a statement on social media, saying:

"I'm proud of the guys for the way we played today. We made some mistakes, but we fought hard and played some great curling at times.

We're disappointed that it didn't work out for us, but we'll regroup and come back stronger.

In the final game, McEwen's team had a chance to move into a tie for third place, but they were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

The Northern Ontario team, which includes lead Cole Adams, second David Mathers, third Scott Howard, and lead Scott Howard, will advance to the playoffs as one of the top four teams in the field.

The Brier continues with the playoffs and the semifinals, which will determine the teams that will compete in the final.

McEwen's team, which includes lead Alex Campbell, second Matt Lang, third B.J. Neufeld, and lead Reid Carruthers, will look to bounce back from the loss and make a push for the playoffs in the semifinals.
