NDP secures historic victory
The New Democratic Party (NDP) secured a historic victory in the British Columbia general election, defeating the Liberal Party and winning a majority government.
On May 9, 2017, NDP Leader John Horgan met with Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon to discuss the formation of a government. Guichon asked Horgan if he had the confidence of the house to govern, and Horgan confirmed that he did.
