Albany Woman Charged with Manslaughter in Fatal Drunken Crash
A 25-year-old Albany woman, Imahjai Sutherland, has been charged with manslaughter after an alleged drunken crash on 787 killed her two passengers.
According to State Police, the vehicle was found over an embankment off the northbound lanes near Exit 5, with all three occupants suffering severe injuries.
- The two passengers, 27-year-old Jamilla N. Tirado and 25-year-old Cepelynn T. Sutherland, were from Albany.
- Imahjai Sutherland was also charged with two counts of second-degree assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, DWI, and other vehicle and traffic violations.
Police observed signs of intoxication and took a blood sample at Albany Medical Center.
Imahjai Sutherland was taken to the State Police Latham station after being released from the hospital.
