Candace Balderas-Miller recalls her job interview at Molina High School over a decade ago, where she met Amanda Cofer, one of the few women to rise to the rank of campus athletic coordinator in Dallas ISD.
After spending 10 years in various coaching roles at Molina, Balderas-Miller was hired as the new athletic coordinator at Hillcrest.
“I knew I wanted to move into athletic administration, but mostly it was about just doing the next right thing,”
she said.
“I decided to throw my hat in the ring. To be honest, I did not expect to be the next one called up. Now that I’m here, the fit seems very right.”
In her new role, she will coach wrestling, powerlifting, and girls flag football at Hillcrest, matching her versatile background.
