The St Patricks Plains wind project in Tasmania has faced its fifth delay in awaiting a decision under the federal Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.
The project, initially designed for 67 turbines, was scaled back to 50 and now 47, with a proposed capacity of 291 megawatts (MW). The decision deadline has been extended to November 28.
A government spokesperson stated that the delays, including the most recent one, were requested by the project's developer, Ark Energy. Ark Energy acquired the project in 2022 from previous owner Epuron.
The new deadline for a decision is now November 28.
