Limerick Man Elected Mayor of London Borough
A Limerick man, John Doran, has been elected as the mayor of the London Borough of Spelthorne, one of London's 32 boroughs.
Mayor Doran, who was born and raised in Thomondgate, now lives in Stanwell, a village near Heathrow Airport.
- He moved to London at the age of 20
- He worked with the Royal Air Force and later in the freight department of Heathrow Airport
The area covers a number of areas on the doorstep of Heathrow Airport.
