There is a need for more enforcement and collaboration to tackle anti-social behaviour, including the unauthorised use of fireworks, in the run-up to Halloween.
This is according to Sinn Féin councillor Tom Barry, who reported that a firework was thrown into a house in Listowel on Sunday evening, causing alleged criminal damage.
Gardaí are investigating the incident and appealing for witnesses.
People are now dreading the lead-up to Halloween rather than enjoying it, due to the prevalence of illegal fireworks, especially in housing estates.
Cllr Barry emphasizes the need for greater collaboration between An Garda Síochána and Kerry County Council to enforce their powers, particularly in council housing estates.
