No. 3 Virginia field hockey needed a win to return to form after a loss to No. 2 North Carolina last week.
A home game against No. 7 Liberty provided the perfect opportunity, and the Cavaliers took it, winning 1-0.

said Nemec. The game was a defensive slugfest, with the Flames ranking second in the country in shutouts per game and the Cavaliers ranking third in save percentage.
Virginia stifled Liberty's attempt at an equalizer in the second half, taking home the win.
