Chesapeake Library Situation Still Under Assessment
Officials are working to assess the state of the Chesapeake branch of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library, which has been closed since June.
Gretchen Claypool, director of the library system, stated that work is being done to install temporary shoring in the building, located at 11054 County Rd. 1, due to issues with the roof and foundation.
Once the temporary shoring is installed, a proper assessment of the building can be done, and materials in the library can be transported to a temporary site.
The library will remain closed indefinitely, pending the assessment.
