Apple Partners with BYD to Expand Production in Vietnam
Apple is increasing production in Vietnam, partnering with China-based BYD to manufacture a range of new products.

- Advanced tabletop robot
- Security cameras
- A display to control appliances and serve as a home command centre
In addition to these new products, the partnership will also boost iPad production in Vietnam, where Apple's partners already assemble Macs, AirPods, and Apple Watches.
Starting production of a new product line outside of China is a major shift for Apple, which has generally moved assembly out of the mainland to lower-cost locations.
