Florida Man Sentenced to Prison for Ambushing Paramedics
A Sarasota man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, plus 20 years of probation, for a staged shooting at Sarasota County paramedics in 2019.
The incident occurred after paramedics responded to an automated 911 "fall" alert on Goodrich Avenue. When they arrived, residents stated that no one had called for help. As the paramedics returned to their ambulance, the man, Tyran Young, opened fire, hitting the vehicle twice.
