Volkswagen Expands Electric Car Grant Eligibility
Volkswagen has added selected ID.4 and ID.5 models to the Electric Car Grant list, giving buyers an instant £1,500 discount at the point of purchase.
Written by Keith Adams, updated on 16 October 2025, this news means that the ID.4 and ID.5 SUV ranges now qualify for the level-two £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant (ECG) discount, joining the ID.3.
The new eligibility brings more of Volkswagen’s range into direct competition in the growing electric car price war, with qualifying models available from £36,995 on the road, and the ECG bringing the effective entry point down to £35,495 for buyers.
No forms are required to benefit from the saving.
