I have never cared about my car. My first car, a 2000-something Geo Prizm, was given to me by my aunt when I was 15 and I kept it until I moved to New York City at 24.
It got me through high school, college, and the first two years of my post-graduate life, despite the little care I gave it in return. When the power steering stopped working, I was told I had punched a hole in the steering column, causing all the power steering fluid to leak out.
I told him I would just drive it like that.
My current car, a 2014 Subaru Impreza, has received the same neglect and complaints. I drive it as little as possible.
