Temperature Records Shattered in Vancouver Island Towns

Multiple towns on Vancouver Island, including Port Hardy, Port Alberni, Campbell River, and Qualicum Beach, have set new temperature records.

According to Environment Canada, Qualicum Beach set a new record low of -1 C on October 14, surpassing the previous record of -0.5 C set in 1992. Records in the area have been kept since 1962 and are measured at the Qualicum Beach Airport.

In contrast, Fort Nelson set a new warm temperature record of 19.4 C, beating the old mark of 19 C set in 1937.
