The third day of Stage 3 at the Chopin Competition 2025 was marked by underwhelming performances. Tomoharu Ushida, who had shown promise in the 2021 competition, failed to impress with his loud and undifferentiated renditions of the F minor Fantasy and B minor Sonata.

I was relieved when his loud and undifferentiated F minor Fantasy and B minor Sonata performances ended.

Zitong Wang's recital provided a more extended look at her skills, but her loud playing came across as hollow and aggressive, while her softer passages lacked body and definition.
