A blasphemy law cannot be introduced via the back door under the Public Order Act.

The case of Rex v Hamit Coskun was heard at Southwark Crown Court on 9th and 10th October 2025.

It has no place in a secular society such as ours.

Public Order Act 1986

This legislation excludes “antipathy, dislike, ridicule, insult or abuse of particular religions” from its religious hatred provisions.
