Over 2,000 new homes in Tipperary now have access to fibre broadband, with more than 30,100 premises in the county able to avail of high-speed connections.
National Broadband Ireland has made this possible through its Fibre-to-the-Home network under the National Broadband Plan, with almost 2,400 premises in the Littleton deployment area now connected.
The areas covered include the rural surrounds and townlands of Littleton, Thurles, and Holycross, with a total of 31,000 premises in Co Tipperary included in the State's Intervention Area.
This investment is part of the biggest rural investment since rural electrification, with Co Tipperary receiving €118m of Government investment under the National Broadband Plan, delivering minimum speeds of 500 megabits per second to homes, businesses, farms, and schools.
