Karan Johar On 27 Years Of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Karan Johar reminisces with Subhash K Jha about his classic romance, his debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, celebrating 27 years, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, along with Rani Mukerji and Salman Khan.
Karan looks back on the experience of making Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, saying:
As if it was in another lifetime. When I look back at pictures from the sets of KKHH, I can’t recognize who that person is. He was plus-size, simple, untouched, innocent, 100-kg plus… completely free of any value judgment and seeking validation only from himself. It was an old-fashioned conviction.
Karan's father, producer Yash Johar, had faith in his son, to which Karan responds:
A father never has to have confidence…he just has abundant love.
