GPG Seeks Approval for Queensland Solar and Battery Project
Global Power Generation Australia, a subsidiary of Spanish energy company Naturgy, is seeking federal government approval for a 290 MW solar farm and 180 MW / 360 MWh battery energy storage system in Queensland's Fraser Coast region.
The project, located near the township of Brooweena, will be built on a 555-hectare site currently used for agricultural purposes. The solar farm will feature approximately 600,000 solar panels, and the battery energy storage system will be sized at 180 MW and 360 MWh.
