No Kings Protest Saturday draws largest Gila Valley crowd yet

In Safford, over 60 people participated in the nationwide No Kings Protest Saturday, held at the corner of 20th Avenue and U.S.

Kathy Garrett, secretary for the Graham County Democratic Committee and protest organizer, stated that the increased number of protesters is a result of the Trump administration's moves toward autocracy.

“More and more things are happening in the country that people just can’t tolerate any more,”
“Our democratic process is being overlooked and the laws are being overlooked.”

This was the seventh Gila Valley protest since President Trump returned to office in January, following previous protests on April 5, April 19, May 1, June 14, July 17, and September.
