The Chicago Marathon, the sixth World Marathon Major of 2025, is underway with over 50,000 runners participating on October 12.
Nice conditions prevail in the Windy City, with wheelchair racers finishing and other athletes approaching the finish line.
Dan Beck, deputy news editor at Runner’s World, is leading the news coverage. He has experience covering major running events, including the Olympic Games and Boston Marathon.
He still enjoys running, just more slowly now.
Beck is a former collegiate distance runner and has covered track and field and cross-country at MileSplit.
Author’s note: Results from the 2025 Chicago Marathon are being reported.
