Johann Zarco had a strong showing in Practice at the Malaysian MotoGP, finishing second-fastest on Friday.
Zarco, who has only scored one top-10 finish since his second-place finish at the British Grand Prix in May, was back to competitiveness at Sepang, setting the second-fastest time in Practice.
He was 0.019 seconds behind first-placed Pedro Acosta.
“So happy because it was so good to play with this weather,”
Zarco said, speaking to MotoGP.com after two rain-affected practices in Sepang. He added that his team had to make the most of the conditions, doing their first time attack early in the session and then pushing for another time as the track dried.
Zarco's strong performance is a welcome return to form for the Le Mans winner, who has been left behind by the Honda HRC Castrol riders since the summer break.
