Two exceptional geothermal plants, a key figure in geothermal development, and a groundbreaking research project were recognized during the event.
- The 24 geothermal plants in Bavaria delivered around 3.4 TWh of heat in 2024, a 20% increase from the previous year.
- The Erding Geothermal Power Plant was honored as the “Golden Heating Plant 2024” for its high coefficient of performance (COP) of 40.5.
A COP value of 40.5 means that using one kilowatt-hour of electricity yields 40.5 kilowatt-hours of heat.
New records for heat generation from geothermal energy were highlighted during the event, organized by Enerchange in Pullach, Germany.
